MARC JACOBS O!mega Gel Powder Eyeshadows | Dynam-O!, Daddi-O! and O!Mercy

This past Sephora VIB Rouge Sale was the first time in years that I did not go completely crazy buying things just for the sake of them being on sale. In fact, I only ended up purchasing a total of 5 products and returned two of those 5, which left me with 3 products from the same brand and from the same range. These are the amazing Marc Jacobs O!mega Gel Powder Eyeshadows in Dynam-O!, Daddi-O! and O!Mercy - and as you can probably tell, I am in love with them.

So this year Marc Jacobs Beauty did not launch a 20-pan holiday palette and I must say that I was disappointed. As someone who really enjoys Marc Jacobs eyeshadows and owns the holiday palettes from 2016 and 2017, I was really looking forward to this years palette.

But instead a few months ago they released these single shadows and while I admired them from afar, I knew I would not make a move on them until I got to see them in person.

Which is exactly what happened when I finally got a chance to pop into my new-ish local Sephora inside JCPenney, and from the minute I first saw them in person, held them in my hand and swatched their incredibly soft formula, I was hooked.

Yes - these eyeshadows are pricey at $29 a pop and even on sale, I still paid $69.60 plus tax. That's over $70 for three eyeshadows which is not too far from the $99 price tag of the 20-pan holiday palettes. But the way I see it, I only bought the shades that I know I will get a lot of use out of so even though the value doesn't seem to be there initially, I think they will pan out to be a great value in the long run.

I love everything about the Marc Jacobs O!mega Gel Powder Eyeshadows and hope to see the range extended in the coming year. Everything from the super-lux black and very heavy casing to the mirror in each compact is just so well done, plus the formula of these shadows is unlike anything I have ever felt. They really do feel like a gel powder and are as beautiful to use as they are to look at - the formula being the same exceptional quality I have come to expect from Marc Jacobs.

Perhaps my only critique of these shadows could be the high price but honestly it is in keeping with Marc Jacbos Beauty. If you wait for a sale, like the Sephora VIB sale, then they are just a bit pricier than an Urban Decay single. And based on quality, packaging and amount of product (UD single 1.5g / Marc Jacobs single 3.8g), they are well worth that small price difference. I happen to love Urban Decay singles but these Marc Jacobs O!mega Gel Powder Eyeshadows are on a completely other level.

O!Mercy : matte brich red
Daddi-O! : matte chocolate brown
Dynam-O! : smoky slate-gray with subtle shimmer

While I don't like using terms like "obsessed" when it comes to makeup, this term is so over-used in the beauty community, you can say that these shadows really do have me infatuated. I can't wait to see if they will grow the color range and look forward to owning a few more if they do. For now I am just reveling in these beautiful little compacts that make my heart soar so much.
