Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette #Holidays2016

Today's post is for the my favorite of the holiday releases, the Kat Von D Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette. I just looked on the Sephora site and I do not see it, which means that it did sell out during the VIB sale. In case it restocks I will be keeping an eye out for it and if I see it will make sure to link it on here. For now let me give you my thoughts on this palette, just in case it does come back.

The Kat Von D Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette is a $60 palette that includes 22 eyeshadows: 13 mattes and nine metal crush shadows. First of all this palette is HUGE. It's long but slim, the longest palette in my collection for sure. It's not until you see it in person that you realize how large it really is. It's actually longer than my forearm, which goes to show just how much product you get in this beauty of a palette.

I admit that I am not a huge fan of the outer packaging, I think the name is so big that it's hard to appreciate the coolness of the lettering. But considering how much product you get inside and the beautiful shades, it's not really a big deal. Plus I do like her regular black packaging, just really wish that lettering wasn't so huge.

So with so many Holiday 2016 beauty launches, why is the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette my favorite pick? Because this palette makes my heart go pitter patter, it really does? Every time that I open mine or that I have spotted it at Sephora, it's like my heart gets all warm and gooey and excited.

Let's start with the first group of matte shades. I think all seven of these shades swatched very pigmented and smooth, with no skipping or patchiness. I was happy to find that Velour, Moss, Ribbon and Silk swatched so nice, because they're some of my favorite mattes in this palette.

These next six matte shades were a bit of a mixed bag. Fringe and Feather felt very dry and chalky and they swatched almost like kids makeup, or chalk. They are definitely not my favorite. Meanwhile, Suede was bunchy and powdery. Oak, on the other hand, is one of the best brown shadows I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

Now let's talk about the Metal Crush shades which are really the stars of this palette. There are nine of these shades and they are stunning. The only shade that had more of a sheen and less of a metallic finish for me was Glitz. Still, it isn't a deal breaker as it's still a pretty shade and not a total dud, just not as metallic in finish.

The stars of the Metal Crush shadows for me have to be: Nebula, Watt and Ignite which I didn't even think I would like. I also knew that Synergy and Flash would be amazing. Really, there are no complaints for the with the Metal Crush shadows.

As you can see in this photo, the metal crush shades have a gorgeous finish that really stands out when the light hits them. They are stunning!

With this large of a variety of shades in one palette, it's incredibly versatile and I love the mix of mattes and the gorgeous Metal Crush eyeshadows! Honestly, if you had to live on a deserted island, this might be the palette you would want to take with you, because it's got it all.

Not only is this palette stunning but it's such a great value for $60, and if you got it during the sale it's even better. I know a lot of people want this to restock in time for Sephora's loyalty rewards coupon, and I hope it does. This is my #1 pick of the holiday season and I hope that you are able to get your hands on it if you did want it.
