Wet n Wild Autumn Lush Matte Liquid Lipstick Swatches & Review

After two weeks of non-stop stalking all of my local Walgreens and Rite Aids I have finally scored the Wet n Wild Autumn Lush Collection. This collection has been quite a pain to find, I have even looked in stores as far as LA and Pasadena and kept finding only empty displays. The folks at Wet n Wild thought it a good idea to include ONLY TWO palettes of each shade in each display, making it impossible to find any. Well yesterday the lady at one of my local stores was nice enough to look in the back for me and she found the delivery box unopened. Thank the LORD because I was starting to lose my patience there for a minute. I don't know why Wet n Wild does this to us, but they need to start adding a lot more products to each limited edition display. Why, oh why do you do this to us Wet n Wild? Okay so I am separating this haul into two posts just to cut down on size since I have tons of photos. This first post is swatches and a mini review of the Wet n Wild Autumn Lush Matte Liquid Lipsticks.

The four shades of matte liquid liptick included in the Wet n Wild Autumn Lush collection are:

Too Tulip To Quit
How Fleek Is Your Love
Don't Be A Plum-Plum
Take It Like A Vamp

I will admit that when I first saw these for shades I wasn't overly excited, it just seems to me that Wet n Wild always comes out with the same shades year after year. And it's not that I have anything against these shades, I actually do think that they are beautiful, but it would be nice to see something different from them once in a while.

Other than the shade selection there really is nothing for me to complain about when it comes to this collection. I tried two of the shades and I found myself enjoying the formula a lot more than I expected to. The first day I tried Don't Be A Plum-Plum and I found it easy to apply, there was no streakiness on application and it stayed put for 5 hours straight until I took it off. The second day I tried Too Tulip To Quit and found that one even easier to apply, the pink and red are actually the better of the four. I like how they don't dry immediately, so you have time to apply carefully and slowly. After they dry down the formula is not drying and it's so light it almost feels as if you're not wearing anything on your lips at all. On the second day I made sure to test the layering aspect and yes, you can layer generously a few hours later and nothing bunches up or looks nasty.

On the day I wore Too Tulip To Quit I drank coffee and had a light breakfast and noticed slight wearing in the inside of the mouth. That's when I added a very generous second layer, which went on perfect. After that it stayed put until I took it off with an oil based makeup remover. After removing it my lips didn't feel dehydrated or cracky.

Overall I am giving this formula a thumbs up, especially when you consider they were only $2.99 each. I found mine at Walgreens but I know that Rite Aid is always good at getting these limited edition displays, so keep a lookout at both. And please look for the eyeshadow swatch post that is coming after this one, you DON'T want to miss it!
