Too Faced Melted Matte | Sell Out & Queen B

You might know that I am a huge lipstick junkie, and my favorite product when it comes to lipstick has to be the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks. I actually own eight of those lipsticks and have gifted two to one of my girls. When I heard that Too Faced was launching a version of these lipsticks in a liquid lipstick form I was excited because liquid lipsticks happen to be all the rage. The original Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks are matte but not the same kind of matte as a traditional liquid lipstick so I was really curious to see this version of my favorite lippie in liquid lipstick form.

The Too Faced Melted Matte Longwear Matte Lipsticks are supposed to be a true matte lipstick that dries down completely and stays on forever (ala ColourPop and Kat Von D). I was just hoping that they wouldn't be overly dry because I'm not a fan of those that dry out your lips and make them look older than they really are. How would this compare to other liquid lipstick formulas and how would they compare to my original love, the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks?

These lippies actually launched a few weeks ago but Sephora immediately sold out of them the very first morning. Since then I've been to several different stores and everybody was completely out so I was excited when they were finally in stock last week. The two shades that I decided to start with one for Cici (Sell Out) and one for me (Queen B). These lippies are the same price as the original Melted lippies at $21 and have the same beautiful packaging that Too Faced is known for.

the swatches

Sell Out is a pinky brown nude that is pretty wearable for those of us that can't wear really washed-out nudes. Of the two shades I ordered, this one swatched more evenly and is a bit more pigmented. I first started with one layer but then added a second to see if it would start to crumble or look gross. I think it layers really well and I like how long this stayed on. I wore it for about 7 hours and it felt pretty comfortable all day long. It's not the driest liquid lipstick I have ever tried for sure, and it was completely transfer proof. On the lips it felt lightweight and like I basically had nothing on. Overall, I am happy with the formula of this one as well as with the shade.

Queen B is a soft mauve shade that swatched just a tad streakier than Sell Out. It could also have something to do with the fact that it's not as pigmented as Sell Out. I love a good mauve shade and I do like Queen B but I wish it was a tiny bit darker, I find it too be a little too "soft". But the formula is basically the same as Sell Out, I wore it all day long, it was completely transfer proof and felt comfortable. Neither one of these is moisturizing, as that is not what a liquid lipstick ever is, but it's also not a bad formula at all. I think these are definitely more comfortable and less drying than the original ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks.

Too Faced Melted Matte Longwear Matte Lipsticks in Sell Out & Queen B. These have a doe foot applicator that makes applying easy. They dry down completely in about 10 minutes and I did not experience any crumbling or gathering.

Overall I am happy with these first two Too Faced Melted Matte Longwear Matte Lipsticks in Sell Out & Queen B. Yes, I do plan on getting at least two more, definitely a red one and maybe another darker shade. Do I love these as much as the original Too Faced Melted? No, those will forever be my favorite. But I love the packaging of these lipsticks and am stoked that we finally got our hands on them! Have you tried these out yet?
