Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Duo Swatches & Thoughts

I am such a huge Kat Von D fan, in fact once you do get a load of my recent Sephora VIB haul you will see just how much of a fan I am of hers. That's why when I saw a sneak peek of the Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Duo, I could not wait to get my hands on it. The day that it launched on Sephora I ordered it on the spot and could not wait to receive it. The Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Duo consists of two deluxe sized everlasting liquid lipsticks that you're supposed to use together to create an ombre lip. I am such a big lover of purple lipsticks that I knew that I would love this combination even though the pink shade on it's own is pretty freaking scary.

Let's take a moment to admire the packaging of this little duo set shall we? This is a box that I will definitely not be throwing away. I did get the Lolita set during the holidays, that box was cute but I did throw it out. This one is going to be with me till the day I die. Don't worry, I am sure my kids will throw it away way before that one day when they're on unearthing me from under my piles of empty makeup boxes and dead cats. But seriously, Kat Von D's style is like no other and always gets top marks from me.

So the Kat Von D Everlasting Duo Set consists of two Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in the shades: Susperia ( a bright lavender) & Melancholia (a cool toned light pink). I would never in a million years wear Melancholia  on it's own, it's one of those shades that on me will look absolutely horrifying but it does make a great match with Susperia when doing an ombre lip. Susperia is divine you guys, absolutely divine. I love my purple lavenders and this shade is the bomb.com.

Applying the Kat Von D Everlasting Duo Set as an ombre look takes a little practice. I applied the first shade all around and then added a dollop of the lighter in the middle of my lips, but I'm sure you can also place Susperia all over both lips first and then add Melancholia in the middle. The good thing about the Kat Von D formula is that you can layer it without any bunching up or caking. And you can also wear both shades on their own if you so please, so overall you can get some nice variety from this set.

In person the two shades are a lot deeper than these pictures show, but I do think the Kat Von D Everlasting Duo Set is wearable. Yeah you get a little bit of that 80's chola lip look, but that's kind of the idea isn't it?

In fact if Kat Von D can do another duo set with a brown and red combo, then we can REALLY rock the chola look. Thumbs up way up for that idea!

The Kat Von D Everlasting Duo Set is $25 and still available on the Sephora website. I love it, and I love the idea of an ombre set that allows you to really play with a look. I def recommend this set if you like purple, if you like fun lippies and if you are a Kat Von D fan.
