My Super Minimal Sephora Appreciation Sale Wish List

As you might know, I am currently on a no-buy. Because I am master of my own money, it's not something super formal where I will have to give myself ten lashes each night for breaking it. This no-buy really isn't about not buying makeup for a month and then buying it all next month (I don't see the point in that). For me this no-buy is about changing the way I look at makeup shopping. I need to retrain my brain to not want to rush to buy everything I see. I've come to realize that I didn't want half of the items I have bought in the past years, it was an addiction, it was this rush that I would feel when I ordered something new that would immediately dissipate the minute the item arrived at my doorstep, and then I would have to do it again.

I also let myself be led by the hype, something which I am working on controlling right now. I always thought I was so good at avoiding the bullshit products that were not really good but highly pushed by influencers who got them for free. But if I was really good at filtering those products out - why do I own a ton of products that I have zero interest in? Hype.

While I still love makeup as much as always, I no longer want to be that person who craved that high so bad that I was willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a sale. Not when I only truly wanted 2-3 of the items I bought. And it's with that mindset that I am approaching the looming Sephora Beauty Insiders Appreciation Sale: I do want to take advantage and save some money, but not on a bunch of products I'll never use. Instead I plan on picking up one or two items that I think I will get everyday use out of, products that my heart really craves.

Here is my incredibly short wish list for the sale:

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow in Smoke : this looks like a perfect taupe cream shadow, something I have had on my wish list for quite a while now. Except I don't know if it's going to be too glittery. I would like more color payoff than the Natasha Denona Chroma Chrystal Top Coats but less glitter than the Stila Glitter and Glow Eyeshadows.

Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer : this product has been out for a long time so it's not very exciting at this point but it's something I have been thinking about for over a year - the only problem is that I have never seen it in person to swatch it. My local stores don't carry Milk Makeup so I don't know if it will be too warm for me as a lot of bronzers tend to be too warm or orange on my skin color.

Natasha Denona Camel Eyeshadow Palette : I am adding this palette to the list because I truly would love to get it but it probably won't happen. I am only buying 1-2 makeup products per month right now and if I am going to get anything from Natasha then I would rather wait for the Safari Palette. I know she hasn't revealed that palette yet but I have a feeling it's going to be amazing, especially because it's going to be all-matte. So as much as the Camel Palette appeals to me- I would rather wait for it's bigger sibling to arrive.

Tiny list right? I can already see myself changing for the better because as I prepared this post, I opened up the New Arrivals section on the Sephora site and there was nothing there that I want - besides what is on this list. Truly, once you realize there is so much more to just buying makeup and stashing it away forever, you actually realize that you don't need it all.

I might buy one thing from my list, I might buy two, or I might buy none (highly unlikely). But during this sale there will be no hundreds of dollars spent, no huge haul on my Instastories. Instead there will be one happy chick waiting for her tiny order to arrive, happily knowing she is changing her outlook on makeup shopping for the better while still enjoying the act of shopping for makeup.

And just so you can see how deep the sickness was, this was my last Sephora VIB Rouge Haul. Yo mama, how many faces do you have to use all that makeup? I know right!
