Wet N Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon in Nude Awakening Swatches

This morning I was lucky enough to bump into the brand new Wet n Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon Palettes. These are as of now, the most affordable "Urban Decay style" Palettes from the drugstore. A few days ago I found the New York Color Lovatics By Demi which is $6.99 but as usual Wet n Wild has come into the game even more affordably than that. I do have both of the palettes but since there are many photos to share, I am splitting them up into two posts. First up let's take a look at the Wet n Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon in Nude Awakening.

These 10-pan ColorIcon Palettes are priced at a low $5.62 a piece and available at Walmart. The two shades are called Nude Awakening and Bare Necessities. For me Nude Awakening is definitely the best looking of the two as it has that really rich brown and burgundy shade. Both palettes feature an assortment of matte, shimmers, satin and sparkle shades. I think it's fantastic that they included so many mattes, as most of their palettes tend to go the sparklier route.

I like the presentation, it's sleek and small, Wet n Wild always keeps it very simple. The plastic is the same cheap plastic as usual but the black presentation with white lettering gives the palettes a cooler look. Size wise these palettes are longer then the Covergirl Tru Naked Palettes but a lot smaller than the L'Oreal La Palettes, so they are pretty travel friendly. You can easily fit one into your to-go makeup bag, which is convenient if you ever want to touch up or will be getting ready at the office or gym.

The Wet N Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon in Nude Awakening features 5 matte shades and 5 shimmer and satin, which is a great combo and should please everyone. The second palette has a chunky glittery black shade ( a sparkle shade, I assume) that was harder to swatch and I am happy to report that this palette doesn't have one of those shades.

Now let's look at the swatches.

Of the two Au Naturel Palettes, I found Nude Awakening to swatch better - the shades are just a little more pigmented and there is no sparkle shade to ruin it. Instead there is a very nice matte black, that gorgeous burgundy/berry shade and those two darker browns. The taupe/rosy matte shade is beautiful and the shimmer shades all swatched very smoothly and aren't all glittery and gaudy. The 5th shade was a little chunky but it's also one of the prettiest shades in the palette. Overall AND especially for the price, I don't think there's anything to complain about here.

I wore the Wet N Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon in Nude Awakening palette last week and it definitely delivers a beautiful look. I found the shades to be pigmented, easy to blend and they stayed on all day. I do wear an eyeshadow primer that's really good and I think that has a lot to do with the staying power of all the shadows I wear. But for sure I really enjoyed trying this palette out, and I hope I can try the second one soon.

Whether you're looking for a nude or rose toned palette, Wet n Wild has you covered with their Au Natural Palettes. I'm still shocked at how little they cost and suggest picking them both up unless you really only want one.

I'm such a fan of affordable makeup, and this Wet N Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon palette is one of those gems at the drugstore that we can all afford. Check out my full post on the second palette, the Wet n Wild Au Naturel ColorIcon in Bare Necessities HERE
